We are in our 17th year in business and have grown to seven locations spanning three states. Until three years ago, we were mainly servicing small losses from residential customers and all challenges associated with that kind of work.
After pouring over years of data (both financial and turnover of team members), we decided to make a major pivot towards commercial work because it is much less emotional and much less wear and tear on the production team members.
One of our big problems was that we were less than 20% commercial, had a lack of visibility and lack of accountability of what the reps in the field were doing. It was not a lack of trust in their efforts, it was more a lack of awareness of why an opportunity stalled or how to coach it.
Like most companies, we have a strong process around restoring a customer’s house with compliance tasks and weekly production meetings to make sure the job stays on point. What we did not have was strong sales management that was able to identify the issues in order to provide coaching and accountability to make sure we were moving the sales down the pipeline. We also found we were not removing opportunities that were just wasting our time.
In 2019, we started using the Sanktum methodology to help the team help coach our reps and provide the right level of accountability and visibility to reach our goals. In the last three years, 70% of our revenues are now commercial, we are up 75% in revenues and our profits have tripled. And the best part, our customer and team member satisfaction has soared along with our financial performance.
